Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, Jababa has been earning the respect of musicians and audiences alike since their inception in late 2007. The instrumental five-piece blends elements of funk, fusion, and progressive rock to create a new hybrid genre that both honors the traditions of these styles while simultaneously forging new ground.

With a healthy mix of self-taught and formally trained (Doctoral and Master’s student) musicians, Andrew Martin, Will Robertson, Brad Huffman, Aaron Bagby, and Andrew Stonerock craft songs that fuse raw energy, an artistic sensibility, and diverse musical concepts. These elements create a thumping groove accompanied by intricate melodies and arrangements which highlight each member’s musicianship.

Jababa reflects the maturation of these musicians, showing tremendous growth from their previous endeavors. Whether they are dropping some down-and-dirty funk at a late night show or killing the audience softly during a mellow dinner set, Jababa has the ability to connect with the room in a way that creates a powerful experience for everyone involved.
